Why investment research needs a different kind of tool
Private investors today have access to more market information than any previous generation. News travels instantly, company filings are publicly available and commentary is everywhere. Yet access to information is not the same as the ability to use it well. The challenge is not finding data — it is knowing which questions to ask, which assumptions to challenge and which signals genuinely deserve your attention.
Most tools built for retail investors focus on data delivery: charts, prices, headlines. Very few focus on the thinking process itself. We saw that gap clearly. An investor who can read a piece of news critically, map out the scenarios it implies and stress-test their own assumptions is in a fundamentally stronger position than one who simply consumes more information. That is the capability we set out to build.

Our approach to research support
We designed the assistant around a simple principle: good research is a conversation, not a download. When you bring a piece of market news to the assistant, it does not hand you a summary or a verdict. It helps you interrogate the material — identifying the assumptions it rests on, the scenarios it implies and the evidence you would need to form a confident view. The process keeps you in the driving seat.
We are deliberate about what the assistant does not do. It does not provide financial advice. It does not recommend specific investments. It does not execute trades. These boundaries are not limitations — they are the foundation of a tool that genuinely supports independent thinking rather than substituting for it. Every conclusion you reach is yours, built on research you have done yourself.

Built for the ordinary private investor
We did not build this for professionals with Bloomberg terminals and research teams. We built it for the individual investor who reads the financial press in the evening, manages their own portfolio and wants to think more rigorously about what they are reading. You do not need a finance degree to use the assistant effectively. You need curiosity, a willingness to examine your own assumptions and a desire to form views that are genuinely your own.
Investment research is a learnable discipline. The more you practise asking the right questions, the better your thinking becomes. The assistant is designed to accelerate that learning — not by giving you answers, but by helping you develop the habits of mind that lead to better questions.
