Research Principles, Honesty and Investor Autonomy | Lisentrava

this research tool is built on a set of working principles that shape every aspect of the product — from how the assistant frames questions to how we think about the responsibility of building tools for private investors.

OBS. 1

Research Principles

The foundation of everything we build

Every feature we develop starts with a question about research quality: does this help the investor think more clearly, or does it do their thinking for them? We hold a strong view that the most valuable thing an investment research tool can do is improve the quality of the questions an investor asks — not provide answers that bypass the research process. This principle shapes our product decisions at every level, from the way the assistant frames its prompts to the information it chooses to surface and the information it deliberately withholds.

OBS. 2

Intellectual Honesty

Our standard for every output

We do not build tools that tell investors what they want to hear. The assistant is designed to surface uncomfortable assumptions, flag weak points in a thesis and present scenarios that challenge a prevailing narrative — not just validate it. We think this is what genuine research support looks like. An assistant that only confirms your existing view is not helping you invest more thoughtfully; it is helping you feel more confident without earning that confidence. We hold ourselves to a higher standard than that.

OBS. 3

Clear Independence

Our commitment to the investor's autonomy

We are unambiguous about the boundaries of what we do. this research tool is a research assistant, not a financial adviser, and not a trading tool. We designed those boundaries deliberately, because we believe the investor's autonomy — their right to form their own view and make their own decisions — is the thing we are here to protect and strengthen, not to substitute. Every product decision is tested against this commitment: does it leave the investor more capable and more independent, or does it create a dependency that serves us rather than them?

OBS. 4

Long-Term Capability Building

What we are ultimately trying to achieve

We measure our success not by how often investors use the assistant, but by whether using it makes them better researchers over time. The habits of asking structured questions, examining assumptions, comparing scenarios and testing theses are learnable — and they compound. An investor who develops these habits becomes progressively more capable of forming independent, well-grounded views, regardless of what tools they have access to. That is the outcome we are working towards, and it guides every decision we make about how the product behaves.
